PROJECT: COMMUNITY CENTER FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES IN POGRADEC

Under UNDP Albania’s request in cooperation with the Municipality of Shijak, we have designed the Implementation-Project and cost estimation of the Community Center for children with disabilities in Pogradec.
The premises of this center are proposed to settle in an existing building 2 floors. Pogradec Municipality has made available to the premises of that center 2 of its floors. The surface of available floors is 544 m². Existing buildings must adapt and function in accordance with the required facilities of the center. Condition of the building is extremely deteriorated. Problems begin with walls that are damaged in some places, the plaster needs to be repaired, windowsare damaged, as well as doors. The terrace is damaged and therefore has the presence of humidity in the interior premises. For this reason the building needs complete reconstruction. Based on the mentioned above, the implementation project consists of three areas:
1- Adaptation of the existing building facilities for multifunctional centre areas.
2- Full reconstruction of the existing building.
3-Building some additional new premises on the ground floor of the existing building.In connection with the adoption the proposed new facilities are as follows:
• Premises of the daily center for children with disabilities
Daily care centers for children with disabilities contains five classrooms / learning laboratories, physiotherapy room, therapy rooms, offices for administration, multifunctional hall that will serve for training, events, library, canteen, rooms for battered women, etc. There arealso provided toilets for children and staff and a sanitary space for people with disabilities. In connection with the interventions of reconstruction is proposed that after being realized the new premises,in parallel will be performed all electrical and sanitary installations under the project. These installations will be made completely new. The walls will be plastered at 100%, as well as the ceiling. Tiles will be raised completely new. The windows at the additional new premises will be double glass. Doors will be new, tumblers, according to the details of the project.
